Irish Dance classes

We are a small Irish dance school with classes in New Orleans, LA and Richmond and Fredericksburg, VA. Registration is open year round for new students. Muggivan School welcomes children and adults of all ages. No experience is necessary to attend.

Performances and Feis

We are a small school that hosts Feiseanna (Irish Dance competitions) and does performances to offset our tuition. Please use our contact us page if you would like to book a performance!

This is a niche cultural dance form and we thrive when our dancers' parents get involved and help us, especially when it comes to setting up and running a Feis. We are always looking for volunteers to help at these events and we are so grateful when our families are able to provide that for us.

MSID is under the direction of champion dancer and certified Irish dance teacher, Joni Muggivan, TCRG. We have locations in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Richmond and Fredericksburg, Virginia. MSID accepts dancers ages 3 through adult, beginners through champions! Dancers may take classes for fun, performance, and/or competition. Muggivan School of Irish dance performs throughout the Greater New Orleans, Richmond, and Fredericksburg areas, and dancers compete on local, national, and international stages. Come join us today!

Very simply, what sets Muggivan apart is years of experience and the breadth and depth of our program. Joni Muggivan has over ten years of experience as a certified TCRG. In those years, our program has taken the newest of beginners and turned them into champions. The MSID program focuses on technique, strength, endurance, and just plain fun. However, what is most important is that the staff at MSID is 100% committed to the goals of each our individual dancers, whatever those goals may be. You’ll find no pressure to compete at MSID, unless that is what you want to do. At MSID, we are passionate about Irish dance. We want to help you find where Irish dance fits into your life. Wherever that may be, we will be there with you every step of the way.
